Will 2012 Bring Not One, but Two New iPads?

The year 2012 may bring not one, but two new iPads to the market. The market is already buzzing with news of the pending iPad 3 launch in March. This tablet will include Apple’s Retina Display, already found in the latest iPhones, offering the clearest images yet on a tablet. But new rumors indicate the iPad 4 may also be launched in October. Not only that, but these two new tablets are promised to have the best yet applications.

This rumor comes from DigiTimes, who reported on Friday that both iPad models will launch in 2012. In addition to the Retina Display, the first model will also sport a much longer battery life. Once it launches, Apple may be lowering the price of the iPad 2 to $399, which may allow more people to purchase the older version.

The October launch of the iPad 4 may coincide with the next-generation iPhone, which is reported to sport an aluminum case and a redesign. The new iPad may include a 9.7-inch display, upgraded hardware specifications, and more integrated apps than older models, but few other details are available, even from industry insiders.
